My job this weekend sometime, is to update my blog.....it has been far far too long since I've posted an entry! They're calling for rain, so perhaps, I might be able to get a lot things accomplished that have been over-looked ;)
I have a small wedding to do this weekend and I'm looking forward to making arrangements for their reception with beautiful orange voodoo roses and birds of paradise!!

Winter Wedding!!

Thanks to Stacey for sharing these photos with me from her wedding in January!!   This wedding was truly 'fun' for me to do, as it was the first time (and hopefully not the last) I had made bouquets and boutonieres, entirely out of feathers.   Large black and white ostrich plumes, gave us the exact look we were after!!   Luckily for her, I don't think she could have asked for a better winter's day either...as we had a beautiful fresh snowfall that morning to boot!   Thanks again Stacey for trusting me to create these 'untradtional' bouquets for you!!    Congratulations Stacey and Bert!!

The Results!!

One word....."YUMMY"!!    Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures....but that was definitely one of the best cakes I've had in a long time.... and even better, it was pretty simple to make too!!!  

On another note, I have to say I have seen some really great engagement photos over the past few months!!!   I am soo excited for the upcoming wedding season....All my brides are fantastic ladies!!!!

Happy Valentine's

This year I don't have any Valentine's arrangements to do, so tomorrow, I am attempting my first Red Velvet Cake. Teagan is really enjoying the show 'Fabulous Cakes' on TLC, so I thought this would be a great way to spend a Saturday. First a trip to Michaels to pick up some cake decorating supplies and then an afternoon of baking in the kitchen!! Since Valentine's is falling on a Monday this year, we have opted to celebrate it this weekend instead-with a 'fancy' dinner, which I have a feeling is going to be lasagna-followed by our cake for dessert-lol!!.

Hopefully our cake turns out as yummy as these red velvet cupcakes look!!!!     Verdict to follow.....

Bean bag chairs and feathers!!

Once again, it has been awhile since I've posted something...not for lack of wanting though....

I have been busy working on some bouquets-made entirely of ostrich plume feathers, for an upcoming wedding this weekend.   This was an exciting new adventure for me and I absolutely loved making them!!  I will post better pictures when I get them!!

And my last picture is for my own memories......Here is a 4 yr old little girl going to bed with her NEW bean bag chair....there is nothing better than the excitment of little kids!!!!  (Yes, the bean bag chair had to be in the bed with her and under the blankets!!)
